It is a Wireless Travel Router, whether you need a private Wi-Fi network while away or something to boost your Wi-Fi at home, the TL-WR902AC has a mode for you.

Two modes on Travel

1. Router Mode
Plug the travel router in to your hotel room's Ethernet port to create a private Wi-Fi network for internet access without needing to compete with other guests.

2. Hotspot Mode
Connect to an outdoor WISP Access Point, enjoy a private Wi-Fi hotspot for your devices in public areas.

Three modes at home

1. Range Extender Mode
Extend your existing Wi-Fi network to maximize coverage and eliminate dead zones.

2. Client Mode
Allow devices that require a wired connection to access an existing Wi-Fi network.

3. Access Point Mode
Create a wireless network for Wi-Fi enabled devices.

How to manage the router TL-WR902AC – AC750?
1. Set up the TCP/IP Protocol in Obtain an IP address automatically mode on your computer.
2. Open a Web Browser -> Type http://192.168.0.254 in the address bar -> Press Ente, and log in with the username and password you set for the router. The default one is admin for both username and password. If you can not visit this IP, you can try 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1.

If you forget the password please reset the router to factory default by pressing the reset button/hole on the router.
Default router password list

The travel router comes with a built-in USB 2.0 sharing port. Connect a USB storage drive to share access to files, download movies and back up recent photos. Connect your smartphone cable and the router doubles as a 5V/1A charging station for one device.

Some reviews: Bought this to set up in a hotel room with reportedly slow Wifi. Interested to see if I can create a local network in my hotel room using WISP to access my servers at home to watch my TV when I want to while using a Roku in a hotel which has become much easier but might be even better using this little gem.

What is ping?
Ping is the abbreviation of “Packet Internet Groper”, it is a command which tests the connection between two network nodes by sending packets to a host and then reporting the time it takes to get a response.

The nodes can be in a Local Area Network, Wide Area Network or anywhere on the internet. And you can ping an IP Address (192.168.1.1) or Domain Name (www.192-168-1-1.co).

The format of ping command
Enter the word ping, followed by a space, then the domain name/ip address (then hit enter to see your ping output).
For example: ping 192.168.0.1, ping www.192-168-1-1.co

The result of ping command
If it shows a series of replies, the connection is working. The time shows you how fast the connection is. If you see a “timed out” error instead of a reply, there is a breakdown somewhere between your computer and the domain.

Use ping on Windows:
In Windows, select Start-> Programs-> Accessories-> Command Prompt. This will give you a window like the one below. Or click Start and go to Run, type “cmd” in the box and click OK.
1.Ping an IP address. ping 192.168.1.254
2.Ping a domain name. ping www.192-168-1-1.co
Success: Reply from 192.168.1.253: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL= 64 Error: Request timed out. Use ping on Mac:
Hard Drive -> Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal
Unlike Widnows, the Ping here doesn’t only Ping 4 times, but it keeps going down Ping. If you need to stop, press the control+c key on the keyboard to stop the Ping process.

Use ping on linux:
Open a telnet/TERMINAL window.
[root@localhost ~]# ping 192.168.0.254
PING 192.168.0.254 (192.168.0.254) 56(84) bytes of data.
Success: 64 bytes from 192.168.0.254: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.720 ms
Error: From 192.168.0.254 icmp_seq=1 Destination Host Unreachable

Use ping on iPhone:
1. Go to the App Store on your iPhone and download the “Network Ping Lite” application. It is a free app as of this writing.

2. Open the application and you will see four choices: Ping, Ping Subnet Traceroute, and Telnet. For this article we’ll focus on the functions related to pinging.

3. Choose “Ping” to ping a specific device.

4. Enter the DNS name (google.com) or IP address of the specific device you would like to ping and hit “Start.” Your iPhone will now send out four ICMP packets and will tell you the outcome in the “Output” section. * Note: You can do a continuous ping by flipping the “Ping Forever” switch at the bottom.

5. Choose the “Ping Subnet” icon to ping an entire subnet.

6. By default, the app should pick up the subnet that your iPhone is already on. You can change it to check a different subnet or range of IP addresses. (Note: It can only check Class C network subnets.) You can adjust the “Ping Delay” which is the amount of time that the app will wait for a reply from the device before it declares it failed.

7. Hit “Start” and the scan will begin. You’ll see a table of all the possible Class C IP addresses for that subnet and the app will change the color of each as it scans to let you know which ones replied. Black = no reply. Green = Received reply. Yellow = last request failed. Red = stopped giving answer. The scan will take several minutes to complete, so be patient.

TP-LINK’s Archer C900 – AC900 router can set limits on when and how devices can access the internet to keep children safe with parental controls, and use the Guest Wi-Fi Network to provide visitors with Wi-Fi access separate from your main network for more security.

Some reviews: Great coverage, good speeds. Unless you have many devices connecting via WiFi, this is the perfect router for home or small office use. Don’t be fooled into thinking you need an AC999999 branded router to get high speeds. This works just fine, and setup was super simple using either PC or their Google Play / Apple app “TP-Link Tether”.

Meet OnHub, a router for the new way to Wi-Fi. We’re streaming and sharing in new ways our old routers were never built to handle. OnHub is built for all the ways you Wi-Fi. OnHub provides fast Wi-Fi for all of your devices, speaks in a language you understand, and keeps getting better.

The new Google Wifi system provides a different way to improve your wireless network. It replaces your existing router, and it’s a system of points that you place around the home to put an end to dead zones while delivering fast connectivity to every room and every device.

It’s simple to control, and features built-in Network Assist technology that keeps your network fast and secure—with no work required from you. Plus, you can manage both OnHub and Google Wifi with a single, easy-to-use companion app. Google Wifi and OnHub will work together.

How to manage the OnHub TGR1900 Router?
1. Set up the TCP/IP Protocol in Obtain an IP address automatically mode on your computer.
2. Visit http://192.168.1.1, and log in with the username and password you set for the router. The default one is admin for both username and password. If you can not visit this website 192.168.1.1, you can try 192.168.0.1.
If you forget the password please reset the router to factory default by pressing the reset button/hole on the router.

TP-LINK’s OnHub TGR1900 delivers stronger Wi-Fi connections and faster speed for every device. That means smoother streaming, lag-free gaming, and lightning-quick downloads. Plus, it connects to more than 100 devices simultaneously and covers up to 2,500 square feet of your home.

Some reviews: The packaging is attractive and well put together, no wasted space. Everything about this router is well designed! From the LED status ring, to the tubular design of the actual unit. Even the Ethernet cables are flat, to fit with this modern design.

It is important to understand what this router is and what it is not. The main difference between this, and a standard Wi-Fi router is convenience. The idea is to have a very simple to setup, use, and manage Wi-Fi solution in your home. Consequently, the companion “Google On” app used to control this device is very basic.

If you are looking for more advanced features (e.g. Web GUI, VPN server, FTP Server, etc.), then this Wi-Fi router is not for you. With that said, it’s not to say that there are no advanced features at all. In fact, you are still able to setup a guest network, adjust DNS settings (default is ISP + Google public), WAN settings, Enable\Disable UPnP, DHCP reservations, and Port forwarding to name a few.

Once you have your OnHub, download the free Google On App to help you set up and manage OnHub right from your phone or tablet. Prioritize bandwidth to a device or troubleshoot issues, at home or away.

The Archer C50 operates over both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, ensuring amazing wireless performance. Simultaneous Dual Band offers you the flexibility of two dedicated networks – with multiple times the bandwidth for your needs.

Simple tasks like sending e-mails or web browsing can be handled by the 2.4GHz band while bandwidth intensive tasks like online gaming or HD video streaming can be processed by the 5GHz band – all at the same time.

How to manage the Archer C50 – AC1200 Router?

TP-LINK’s Archer C50 comes with the next generation Wi-Fi standard – 802.11ac, 3 times faster than wireless N speeds and delivering a combined wireless data transfer rate of up to 1.2Gbps. With 300Mbps over the 2.4GHz band and 867Mbps wireless speeds over the crystal clear 5GHz band, the Archer C50 is the superior choice for seamless HD streaming, online gaming and other bandwidth-intensive tasks.

Some reviews: I bought this router TP-Link Archer C50 – AC1200 as it was listed as being Linux compatible by the manufacturer. This is not fully truthful. It will act as a wi-fi device and set up was fairly easy. BUT you CANNOT use the USB port as they do not have any utility drivers for Linux OS’s. So no wired printer can be accessed by wireless devices nor can you use an external HD for file sharing. Will never buy this brand again.

I only found this out by contacting tech support. Chat tech said that device does not support linux and asked where I saw this statement in an email reply on issue as a chat follow up as tech needed to get an engineer involved. So I sent them link to there own page. NO NEW EMAILS following my reply. LIARS their specs clearly state Linux support. I’ll be surprised if they let this review post since it has to be reviewed per their T&P.

I am using 2 TP-Link Archer C50 V.2 Dual Channel Routers for a small business providing great Wifi to 30 devices across an acre if property, and Wired service to 2 seperate buildings utilizing a CAT5 cable. These do everything need. It was easy setting them up with one Primary DHCP (Master) cabled to a second used as a Wireless AP. Flawless thus far. A GREAT BUY at appx. $50.

Some reviews: Just installed this TP-Link Touch 5 router. I am not an IT tech, just and old man that loves new gadgets. This replaces a very, very old Linksys router that was still working well, but did not support the high speed requirements of todays demands. Easy to install IF you follow the directions ( had a problem because I did not follow the first time I tried setup) and everything throughout the house and even to my neighbors house are on line. Yes there are better routers out there, but this fills all of my reqirements. Can not find out how to register my router? Help please.

Three dual band antennas with 700mW high-powered amplifiers allow the Touch P5 to provide up to 10,000* square feet of Wi-Fi coverage. Beamforming Technology further improves long-range stability by delivering highly targeted connections. The 1GHz dual core Broadcom processor ensures excellent performance and allows you to experience stable connections throughout your entire home.

Some reviews: TP-Link Archer C5 – AC1200 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router. Worked right out of the box for the needs of our small family. The features for this router are great having parental controls that really work well in this range of routers is great. Setting it up with the tether app is a real snap and was very intuitive. I set it up with ease in about 15 min, I have set up a few others and cannot stress the fact that setting this Archer 2300 up is very simple and intuitive using the app. After I set this up it was time to test.
We have multiple users and they all wanted to setup the Wifi calling on the phones they had. We set them all up in this very small office. We have many users that will be using this wifi on a daily bases and have had no issues as of yet, and don’t expect any either. Simple usb ports on back work well for us and our external usb storage drive for all users. This router has a nice place for homes or small offices like the one we installed it in.
