What happens when the sub-routing DHCP is turned on

Generally speaking, the sub-routing in bridging mode automatically shuts down the DHCP server. It’s not impossible to turn it on. In a network, devices get addresses from the nearest DHCP server. But notice!!! Must be configured!

  1. The DHCP gateway of the secondary router must be changed to “LANip of the main router”. “Can’t be the lanip of the sub-routing”. Otherwise, you may not be able to access the Internet.
  2. And the DHCP address pool of the secondary route must be staggered from the main route. For example, the main route IP 3-100 sub-route 101-200. If the address pool is the same, if two devices may get the same IP address from two DHCP servers, there will be a conflict. Causes the Internet to be unable to access.
  3. The sub-routing DNS domain name resolution server fills in the same way as the main routing. So the default DHCP server can not be configured, which may lead to network failure. Therefore, in order to save time, the DHCP service of sub-routing is generally not opened.
